Australian Council for International Development and WFAV

We are proud to be a member of the Australian Council For International Development (ACFID), the peak body for the international not-for-profit aid and development sector.

Membership is not compulsory but we believe it is crucial, and that it sets the standard for great practice and requires us to be contemporary in what we do.

ACFID’s quality principles demand that we:

  • Respect and protect people and their human rights; work with local people to address their water supply issues;

  • Empower local people; promote gender equality and empower people with disabilities; protect children;

  • Create sustainable change; are transparent and accountable; and continually evaluate and improve our practice to ensure the best possible outcomes for the people we assist.

As signatories to ACIFD’s Code of Conduct, we are committed to upholding their values which gives our supporters and donors extra confidence in our governance and in our practice on the ground.

We pay respect to the traditional and original owners of this land, the Muwinina (mou-wee-nee-nar) people - to those who have passed before us, and to acknowledge today's Tasmanian Aboriginal people who are the custodians of this land.
